Manchester City star De Bruyne returns to training ahead of Anfield showdown, Liverpool fans react

Kevin De Bruyne is arguably one of Manchester City’s best players but Pep Guardiola’s side have been coping without him.

The midfielder has only played 30 minutes of action so far this season due to a knee injury that he suffered in August.

It was widely expected that De Bruyne would be on the sidelines for around three months, and it seems as though he is on track to return sooner than planned.

On Monday, the Belgium international confirmed on Twitter that he has returned to training with his teammates.

The news has certainly caught the attention of Liverpool supporters given that their team will face Guardiola’s men at Anfield on Sunday.

As mentioned, City have not severely missed De Bruyne due to the quality that they have running through the team.

The club currently sit at the top of the league table following an unbeaten run of six wins and one draw.

Interestingly, Liverpool hold the same record, but they sit second in the standings due to a slightly inferior goal difference.

The form of both of these teams makes Sunday’s encounter all the more important, and the news of De Bruyne’s return to training has certainly got supporters talking.
