Liverpool are set to sell Marko Grujic during the summer of 2020, as reported by Football Insider.

What's the story?

It is suggested that the Serbia international, who is currently on loan at Hertha Berlin, will be allowed to leave during the summer if the right offer comes in for him.

They are expecting to receive a fee in excess of £25m for the 23-year-old to depart Anfield permanently.

This comes with loans manager Julian Ward having given Jurgen Klopp regular updates on the 6 foot 3 midfielder, leading to those back in Liverpool being impressed by the way in which he has smoothed out the rough edges of his game in Berlin.

So far, Grujic has started 19 Bundesliga games, returning three goals and one assist. In addition, he averages 1.4 tackles, 0.9 interceptions, 2.4 clearances and 1.3 dribbles per game.

Not enough

Despite the improvements that have been made, it seems as though it can't be envisaged that he will be able to force his way back into the Liverpool setup to become a first-team regular.

Klopp already has a plethora of midfield options at his disposal, with Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, Georginio Wijnaldum, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita, James Milner, Curtis Jones and Adam Lallana all acting as potential options.

This is encouraging in terms of their strength in depth, as well as a sign of the quality that they have within their ranks, it does make things far more difficult for Grujic to break back into the fold.

With the player wanting regular minutes, which will help to further develop his game, the feeling is that this may be the best time to cash in on him.

This could also be a positive move from the midfielder's point of view, as it would allow him to fully settle down at a club, rather than going out on various loan spells.

Meanwhile, one Liverpool man has been heavily criticised for his performance against Norwich City.
