The Senegal international is no stranger to Reds fans, with his goal last term at Anfield in the blue of Chelsea putting a sizable dent in their title hopes.
Ba profited from a Steven Gerrard slip to net for the Londoners in a 2-0 win, which all but ended Brendan Rodgers’ side’s hopes of a first ever Premier League trophy.
The effort in front of the Kop was one of the African’s last acts for Chelsea, as he left over the summer to sign for Besiktas, whom he now leads the line for on a weekly basis.
With 22 goals to his name this term for the Black Eagles, the 29-year-old is set to play a key role in the Istanbul giants’ quest to knock Liverpool out of the continent’s second club tournament, and he says that he’s more than ready to ruin their dreams once again:
“It is going to be a fun trip to Liverpool because I love playing in England.” He is quoted by the Liverpool Echo.
“The atmosphere at Anfield is going to be amazing as it always is. I did my job against Liverpool last season, Gerrard was just unlucky, I did what I had to and hope to do the same this time around.”
