Newcastle are “not flustered” by the speculation surrounding Georginio Wijnaldum and his move to Liverpool and will stick to “their price” for the midfielder, according to the Chronicle’s Lee Ryder.
The Reds are believed to have made the Netherlands international their major target as they seek to add a fifth new summer signing under Jurgen Klopp.
Although a move is expected to go through, Newcastle are believed to value their man at £27m, which is a sizable fee given they paid £14.5m for him 12 months ago and have since been relegated to the Championship.
Liverpool remain confident of doing a deal, but they are trying to stagger the payments in a bid to make the transfer more affordable.
And Chronicle reporter, Ryder, has taken to Twitter to shed some light on the situation, claiming that the North East side are in no hurry to sell and will not panic:
“#NUFC not flustered by Wijnaldum link with #LFC. They’re sticking to their price and won’t take staggered payments.”

Wijnaldum is thought to be eager to join Liverpool, but Newcastle are keen to get as much cash for their man as they can.
