Newcastle target desperate for Liverpool switch

Newcastle target Andre Ayew is desperately holding out for a dream move to Liverpool, according to reports from The Metro.

The Ghana winger has been earning rave reviews for his displays with Marseille in the French top tier for some time, attracting interest from across Europe.

Newcastle are rumoured to be looking closely at the 24-year-old once again after failing to snap him up last year, but they are firmly second choice behind Liverpool for the player.

Ayew has just under 12 months remaining on his contract and would be a bargain signing, but it’s understood that the Merseysiders have shown no concrete interest.

But that ahs not put the African star off, with Anfield his destination of choice.

He may elect to run down his contract to tempt Brendan Rodgers, with the winger likely to be attractive as a free agent.

AC Milan and Napoli are both keen, but the Italian duo are less than eager to pay his £60,000-per-week wages demands.
