There is nothing worse than a key player suffering an injury while on international duty, but when said footballer is a member of the opposition, it can be a positive.

In this case, Liverpool's chances of getting a result against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Wednesday were boosted when Neymar and Kylian Mbappe appeared to suffer injuries while playing for Brazil and France respectively.

Both had to be substituted as a result but the extent of the problems were not apparent at the time.

While speaking to the media ahead of Wednesday's encounter at Parc des Princes, PSG boss Thomas Tuchel delivered a fitness update.

As reported by Goal.com, the head coach is "optimistic" about the pair being available for the crucial tie.

Unsurprisingly, plenty of Liverpool fans took an interest in this news, with the majority expecting Neymar and Mbappe to be in the first XI when kick-off rolls around.
