Opinion: Liverpool should swoop in if Malcom is up for sale

Barcelona have reportedly offered Brazilian winger Malcom to Chelsea in an attempt to sign Willian, but should Liverpool swoop in and sign the misfiring youngster?

What’s the word?

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea have rejected a player plus cash bid for Willian from Barcelona.

The offer would have seen Malcom move to Stamford Bridge, just 12 months after he joined Barcelona from Bordeaux for £38m.

If the Catalan giants are looking to offload the young winger, then Liverpool would be foolish not to throw their hat in the ring.

FFC’s James Jones has identified the one thing that could cost Liverpool the title. Find out what it is in the video below…

The final piece of the puzzle?

The Reds signed Xherdan Shaqiri this summer, meaning Jurgen Klopp now has the option to rotate the right side of his attack slightly without a significant drop-off in quality.

However, the same cannot be said on the left hand side, where the Reds currently have no back-up for Sadio Mane. Malcom can play on either wing, meaning Klopp would finally have a depth of attacking options on par with Pep Guardiola.

The versatile 21 year-old has barely featured this season, starting just once in La Liga, but he scored 12 goals and added seven assists in Ligue 1 last season.

The Reds undoubtedly have one of the best attacking trios in world football, and signing Malcom would ensure this remains true even if they suffer a few injuries.

So, Liverpool fans, do you think Malcom would be a smart signing? Or would it be a waste of money? Let us know your thoughts by voting in the poll below…
