Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain took time to find his feet following his move to Liverpool from Arsenal last year.

Jurgen Klopp took a patient approach with the midfielder and it paid off as he started to become a crucial part of the first team.

Unfortunately, Oxlade-Chamberlain got a dose of bad luck when he suffered a serious knee injury during Liverpool's Champions League semi-final against Roma.

The 25-year-old was ruled out of the rest of the season, as well as England's World Cup campaign.

It was thought that he would return to action in the winter, but at the start of the season it was confirmed that Klopp would likely be without Oxlade-Chamberlain for the entire 2018-19 season.

The former Arsenal star has been working hard behind the scenes to return to fitness, and during a Twitter Q&A, Liverpool Echo journalist James Pearce suggested that the midfielder could surprisingly be fit before the end of the campaign.

Liverpool fans have given their reaction to the news on Twitter.
