As seen in the print version of Jornal de Notícias (via Sport Witness), Liverpool are set to compete with Barcelona and Braga for the signature of Paris FC striker Silas Wamangituka.

What's the word, then?

Well, the Reds have been courting the teenage forward over the past few months according to the second paragraph of Sport Witness's article.

It is believed that the 19-year-old has a market value of €3m (£2.7m) but his club Paris FC are 'pretty excited' with his form and feel they can get more money for their talented youngster.

Braga and Club Brugge have already offered €4m and €5m respectively for the striker's services, but both offers have been rejected by the Ligue 2 side.

Wamangituka scored 11 goals and recorded two assists in 32 league appearances for Paris FC last term.

Liverpool trying to become a sustainable club

Like a real top club should, the Champions League winners are using their reputation to lure some of Europe's most promising youngsters to the club so they can ensure a sustainable future for themselves.

They have already taken a dip into one of Europe's best academies and cherry-picked a youngster with star potential when they signed Ki-Jana Hoever from Ajax for a fee of just £90k.

The Netherlands Under-17 international and Under-17 European Championship winner became Liverpool's youngest ever player to appear in the FA Cup when he made his debut against Wolves last season, and looks to be a player of real class with plenty of time on his side.

For most Liverpool fans, the interest in Wamangituka having already secured Hoever should fill them with plenty of encouragement and belief that the club is moving in the right direction, and should also make them feel incredibly confident about the sustainability of the first-team.

Exciting times to be a Liverpool supporter, for sure.
