Kasper Schmeichel's Denmark performance on Sunday has alerted Liverpool fans who are looking for a replacement goalkeeper in this summer's transfer window.

Schmeichel of course is a name that isn't exactly big with Reds supporters given his father's links with arch rivals Manchester United in 1990s, but it seems many are willing to consign that to the past and make a move for the Leicester City shot-stopper.

The 31-year-old shot-stopper was in incredible form for the Danes yesterday despite their World Cup exit to Croatia, saving a penalty from Luka Modric in extra-time before going on to save two efforts in the subsequent penalty shoot-out.

With question marks surrounding current Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius, Schmeichel could be the perfect replacement this summer, possessing both the Premier League experience and having the right kind of personality to make the position his own at Anfield.

Should the Reds make their move for the player?
