Real Madrid are reportedly eyeing up a shock move for Liverpool’s Spanish wonderkid Pedro Chirivella, according to the Daily Star.
The 17-year-old, labelled ‘the new Xabi Alonso’ has impressed at Anfield since arriving from Valencia last summer.
And it is being reported that he has been watch several times by Real Madrid’s extensive scouting network and the La Liga giants are now weighing up a possible move.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers often gets Chirivella involved in first team training but is yet to give him a chance to show what he can do at the highest level.
The youngster has captained Spain’s U17 team and regularly impresses for Liverpool’s U21s, with the five-time European Champions regarding him as one of the club’s brightest prospects.
Chirivella’s player profile on Liverpool’s official website reads: “He’s a fine passer, who is constantly picking up the pieces in midfield and keeping the young Reds ticking over.\
“Much of the play goes through Chirivella – and he’s a player who the Academy coaches are looking forward to watching develop at the club.”
