Real Madrid plotting double Liverpool raid

Real Madrid are planning an audacious €80m (£66m) summer swoop for Liverpool’s attacking double act Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho, according to reports from La Sexta.

The Uruguayan and Brazilian have both been in terrific form for the Reds this term, helping the Merseyside club into shock contention for the Premier League title.

Real were linked with Suarez last summer, and it now appears that they are still keen on the striker as well as his team-mate, Coutinho.

Los Blancos are believed to be ready to splash the cash once again during the coming off-season, with attacking additions thought to be a priority.

Suarez is said to be the top target, with the South American ace having netted a staggering 29 league goals already this season – making him the top tier’s highest scorer.

As well as this, the controversial forward leads the division’s assists chart with 12, and is widely being tipped to be named the PFA Player of the Year.

Coutinho is also on Real’s radar, with the Brazilian playmaker having been a revelation since joining Liverpool from Inter Milan in 2013.

But the Reds are unlikely to accept the La Liga giants’ potential £66m offer, with Suarez alone valued at around £70m following his decision to pen a mega money contract at the club during the winter.
