It has been a rather astonishing season for Liverpool this term.
The Reds continue to break records – the 22-point margin they have at the top of the Premier League is the biggest in the history of English football’s top tier, for example – and they are still unbeaten after 25 games. Now, it is a matter of when, not if, they will win their first title in 30 years.
Jurgen Klopp, of course, deserves plenty of credit for what he has done with this team, and you would think that, bearing in mind he has already won Manager of the Month five times this season – the most in a single campaign – he is the clear favourite to win the award at the end of the year as well.
Sky Sports, though, don’t believe it is as clear cut as that. Judging by the vote they shared on their Twitter page on Tuesday, they see Chris Wilder as a viable rival to the 52-year-old.
Who should win the Premier League Manager of the Season award for 2019/20?

The Empire of the Kop decided to share this one their own page, asking why Klopp is not an awful lot further ahead. That post has seen many responses.
Wilder deserves the plaudits, but how is Klopp not absolutely storming this? 🍋 https://t.co/nzqKaVMshf

Many believe this shows how much other fans are against them.
#LFC Klopp WILL walk it, however, It just shows how many Liverpool haters are actually out there! hahaha

Because it is essentially Klopp vs fans of every other team that hates @LFC

Cuz it’s fans of 1 team vs the fans of the rest of the premier league.

Coz everyone barring us Liverpool fans, hate us

It seems a little bit of paranoia is setting in here. And at the end of the day, it is just a social media pole – it doesn’t really mean anything.
Others, meanwhile, have taken a more objective view.
Klopp has went from 2nd to 1st….. Wilder has moved Sheff Utd into European Contention…… people will question which is the most impressive! It’s not a slight on Klopp if Wilder won MOTY

Wilder is a putting a number of big clubs to shame with what he’s doing on probably the lowest budget in the league. As good as Klopp’s been, you’d expect Liverpool to be up there.

Wilder has done a stunning job at Sheffield United this season. They have excelled following their promotion to the Premier League and currently lie in fifth place, just two points behind Chelsea in the final Champions League qualification spot. If he were to claim the trophy at the end of the year, it would be understandable, if slightly unfair on Klopp.
