Refereeing has certainly been a big issue on the Premier League agenda of late. From Jose Mourinho’s moaning to the whole diving subject, officials are under immense pressure. It’s a thankless job, but some don’t do themselves any favours… including Craig Pawson. The man in charge deemed a clear as day foul on Lazar Markovic from Wes Brown to be a fair challenge just minutes into the Sunderland vs. Liverpool game, and it seemed he was only person in the North East of England to reach that conclusion.
As the video shows, the Serbian was knocked off his feat in the area. Happily for the 20-year-old and the Reds, he got the opener shortly after.
Terrible decision by the referee #LFC stone wall penalty not given standard of refereeing is getting beyond a joke
