Liverpool star Joe Allen hinted that he could leave the club if manager Jurgen Klopp decides to sign reinforcements this summer.
The 26-year-old only has a year left on his current deal at Anfield and has been linked with a return to Swansea City in recent months.
He is yet to open talks over an extension, which a factor that could see him leave the club during the upcoming transfer window.
The midfielder admitted that he is still unsure over his future, and that he will make a decision depending on whether or not he thinks his role is at risk.
“I think it hinges on the pre-season plans and what exactly the club are hoping to do, everything comes into that,” he is quoted by the Express.
“The acquisitions and who they are going to get in, and until all that happens then it is difficult to answer that question.
“As a footballer you want to play every minute of every game.”
Klopp is set to undergo a summer overhaul as he looks to build his preferred squad in order to mount top four push next season.
However, Allen also hinted that he could negotiate the terms of a new deal after he finishes his duties with the Wales international team at EURO 2016.
He featured a total of 37 times in all competitions for his side this past term, scoring three goals while providing another three assists.
