Returning star ready to go says Liverpool boss

Luis Suarez ( Liverpool )Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers feels that Luis Suarez is ready to make his Premier League return in this afternoon’s clash with Sunderland.

The Uruguayan striker made his first competitive start of the season during the Reds’ mid-week Capital One Cup loss to Manchester United following his comeback from a 10-match ban.

He is now set to feature against the Black Cats, with Rodgers desperate to get his side back to winning ways after two consecutive defeats.

Suarez played the full 90 minutes against United, and his manager believes that the clash did the forward the world of good:

“He is only going to get better with his football fitness.” He is quoted by the Daily Star

“I thought he was terrific the other night considering he had been out for a long time and you could see the threat he posed.” He is quoted by the Daily Star.

“It is a great credit to himself that he continued to devote, once he got his mind set, time working hard on his fitness.

“To go into a game of that level (against United), knowing the magnitude of that game, was exceptional really.

“His only concentration now is as a player.”

Suarez was widely expected to leave Anfield over the summer after openly chasing a move to Real Madrid.

However, the Spanish giants failed to make a serious offer and Liverpool held firm to keep their star, despite numerous bids from Arsenal.
