Liverpool defender Joe Gomez has enjoyed an outstanding start to the 2018/19 season having established himself as a key first-team starter under manager Jurgen Klopp.

The German's predecessor Brendan Rodgers signed the versatile centre-back in the summer of 2015 from Charlton Athletic for a fee of £3.5m, but his youthfulness and injury issues meant that he had largely struggled to establish himself as a regular in the XI on Merseyside.

However, that has changed this term with the 21-year-old forming a strong partnership at the heart of the defence with Virgil van Dijk, while also filling in at right-back when required if Trent Alexander-Arnold has been absent or rested.

Gomez probably would have started the 3-0 win against Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday had it not been for a knock he picked up in training, and he will now be hoping that he can displace Dejan Lovren for the Champions League trip to Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday, if he is fit for selection.

Having also become a regular for England in 2018 – he would likely have gone to the World Cup in Russia had it not been for injury – we decided to ask Liverpool fans to vote on our poll to tell us how much they think the talented youngster is worth now.

As you can see from the results below, a whopping 66% of those who took part believe that the 21-year-old is worth more than £50m in the current market, while 82% feel he should be valued at £40m or higher.
