The majority of the Liverpool fans that voted in our recent poll said that they would support a move for Lazio and Italy striker Ciro Immobile amid the confusion surrounding Daniel Sturridge's FA charge.

Sturridge has been charged by the FA for allegedly breaching betting rules, potentially relating to his loan move to West Bromwich Albion in January this year.

A Liverpool spokesman (via BBC Sport) said that Sturridge had “stated categorically that he has never gambled on football” in response to the allegations, but professional footballers are also banned from providing non-public information to others that could result in a bet being placed.

It is unlikely that Sturridge will be banned if it is a one-off offence but Liverpool fans are clearly still keen to sign Immobile. The 28-year-old Lazio man already has nine goals and five assists in 16 games this season after netting 41 in 47 games in the last campaign.

The Italian international is valued at £45m by Transfermarkt, but the huge fee he would surely command is clearly not putting Liverpool fans off, with 79 per cent saying they would support Jurgen Klopp if he made a January move.
