If Liverpool earn their sixth European title by winning the Champions League final on May 26, then Jurgen Klopp's hopes of landing his transfer targets are likely to be boosted.

The German coach has plenty of attacking stars at his disposal, with Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane stealing the show most days.

However, the midfield may require some tinkering this season due to the uncertainty of Emre Can's Anfield future.

The 24-year-old's current contract expires at the end of the season, and he is no closer to penning fresh terms.

With that in mind, rumours have been doing the rounds with regards to possible replacements, and according to Calciomercato, Liverpool are planning a summer swoop for Napoli midfielder Amadou Diawara.

The Guinea international is a powerful and strong defence-minded middle man, who can also play box-to-box.

This season, Diawara has had to settle for a place behind Jorginho in the pecking order at Napoli, and has made 26 appearances in all competitions, including five Serie A starts.

At just 20 years of age, the midfielder has plenty of room to grow and could benefit from Klopp's guidance.
