Revealed: Majority of Liverpool fans want Woodburn to play against Stoke City

With the Champions League semi-final second leg against Roma just around the corner, Liverpool fans would be forgiven for placing Saturday’s Premier League match against Stoke City down the list of priorities.

However, Jurgen Klopp’s side have not yet secured a place in Europe’s elite competition for next season.

At the moment, the Merseyside outfit are third in the Premier League table, eight points above fifth-placed Chelsea with three games left to play.

Liverpool head into next Wednesday’s second leg against Roma with a three-goal advantage following a 5-2 triumph at Anfield.

The team’s front three were in scintillating form once again as Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino scored twice, while Sadio Mane also got on the scoresheet.

The enormity of the performance was weakened slightly in the final 20 minutes of the game when Roma nabbed two late away goals, one of which was struck from the penalty spot.

Given that the Italian side managed to come from 4-1 down to knock Barcelona out of the quarter-finals, Liverpool can not be complacent heading into the encounter at the Stadio Olimpico.

With that in mind, Klopp could choose to tinker his team, particularly as he will now be missing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for the rest of the season due to injury.

Ben Woodburn is yet to start a league game for the Reds this season, and even though the teenager is usually positioned as a forward player, he has featured in midfield for the Under-23s this season.

Despite his lack of first-team minutes in the 2017-18 campaign, we asked you whether the youngster should be in the first XI against the Potters, and the majority of Liverpool fans all thought the same.
