Mohamed Salah can seemingly do no wrong in the eyes of the football world at the moment due to his impressive performances for Liverpool.

The Egyptian international has emerged as the club’s star man having hit 43 goals and 13 assists in 46 appearances in all competitions.

The former Chelsea reject is only in his first season at Anfield, but his displays earned him the PFA Player of the Year award from his peers.

After playing a pivotal role in the Reds’ 5-2 thumping over Roma in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final last week, Salah had an unusual off day against Stoke City on Saturday.

The 25-year-old was relatively quiet during the frustrating contest that ended in a goalless draw, and he even missed the target while through on goal in the first half.

After the match, footage emerged appearing to show the attacker whack Stoke’s Bruno Martins Indi with a flailing arm.

If the referee did not spot the incident, then retrospective action could be taken if deemed appropriate by the Football Association.

It is unclear if Salah will be punished, but rival supporters are certainly unhappy that the Liverpool star has not been criticised in the media for his actions.
