Rodgers puts pressure on Arsenal and Chelsea

Liverpool manager Brendan RodgersLiverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has warned Chelsea and Arsenal that his team are in the right place to take advantage of any slip-ups.

The Reds have been in fine form since the turn of the year, producing a number of impressive displays to surge up the Premier League table.

Their results have now put them into contention for a place in the top four, with only seven points between themselves and Chelsea.

Arsenal are currently two ahead of the Anfield club in a tight race for a place in next season’s Champions League.

But, despite being the outsiders, Rodgers feels his team are in the perfect place to take advantage of their rivals and that the pressure is on both of the London clubs to put points on the board:

“The teams above will know they can’t be making any slip-ups, not only because of us but for themselves,” he is quoted by The Mirror.

“This is the stage of the season when you want to win games, and you have to win them.

“Our recent run of form shows without doubt we’re a team which is improving and developing.”

Liverpool do have a genuine chance of sneaking into the top four, with Arsenal currently struggling to find consistency and Chelsea facing a potentially draining set of fixtures in the next few weeks.
