Ruznic dismisses talk of Liverpool move

Palermo playmaker Josip Ilicic will not be on his way to Liverpool in January despite rumours this week, as reported by Sky Sports News.

Ilicic’s agent has laughed off speculation linking his man with a move to England and says that he knows nothing about that move and wouldn’t be interested in hearing anything either.

Liverpool signed Daniel Sturridge this week from Chelsea but are still looking for the creative mind to set the chances up for the likes of Sturridge and Luis Suarez.

The 24-year-old has already netted five times in just 17 appearances for the Sicilian club this season and has impressed in his time in Italy since his 2010 move from Maribor.

Palermo are desperate to hold onto their prized asset and the agent has confirmed that he has had a meeting with the Palermo boss Maurizio Zamperini recently to rule out any possible move in January.

“Ilicic moving to Anfield? Please, I don’t know anything at all about that,” Amir Ruznic told Ekipa.

“I haven’t spoken to anybody about such a move.

“Palermo would not want a transfer to happen. I had a meeting with Palermo boss Maurizio Zamperini and he doesn’t want to hear about this kind of scenario.”
