Mo Salah got the first hat-trick of his Liverpool career as the Reds thrashed Watford 5-0 to close the gap between themselves and Manchester United to just two points.

The 56-cap Egyptian international bagged four goals to race away from the injured Harry Kane in the race for the Golden Boot and continued his hugely impressive first season at Anfield as Jurgen Klopp's side demolished the Hornets.

Salah has sometimes been accused of needing too many chances to score but he was absolutely ruthless on Saturday, scoring with every single shot he had.

He also set off on five of his trademark dribbles, causing Miguel Britos no end of problems, and turned provider on three occasions, laying on three key passes for his team-mates.

Liverpool have drawn Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-finals and there is no doubt that Salah will be the man that Pep Guardiola is most worried about.

He will need to find a way to stop a man who is giving defenders nightmares up and down the Premier League on a weekly basis.
