Football fans are often accused of being a fickle bunch. Opinions change on a weekly basis, and it only takes one slip or error to go from hero to zero, or one great goal to reverse that trend. And some Liverpool fans have fallen into this camp following news that Daniel Sturridge will not feature in Jurgen Klopp’s first game in charge against Spurs.
The striker is understood to have a slight knee problem which has ruled him out of the clash, which is extremely frustrating for Reds, who have seen this happen so many times since his 2013 arrival at the club.
Sturridge has only just returned from a lay-off, originating from back in May, so while its understandable that there is annoyance, it’s a bit bizarre to see Kopites calling for, arguably, their best player to be sold. Alas, that’s the situation we’re in, and here are the tweets to prove it!
@TheAnfieldChat yes and put it towards lewandowski get him in enough is enough with Sturridge now can’t rely on him!

need to get rid of Sturridge. The bloke can’t be relied on anymore. Injuries are unfortunate but we can’t be strikers missing all the time

If he carries on like this I rather we sell Sturridge while he’s still worth something rather than have him half injured all season long

I’d sell Sturridge now. Clearly, can’t be relied on. Can’t have him on that much money to hardly play. We need a new striker.

Sturridge injury news is just painful. This can’t go on.

I’ve said it plenty of times, simply can not rely on Daniel Sturridge. We need a new striker.
