Serie A giants enter race for Liverpool outcast, but there’s one problem

Lazio are ready to take a chance on Liverpool mis-fit Mario Balotelli, but his £100,000-per-week salary is an issue for the Rome club, according to reports from Il Messaggaro.

The 26-year-old is currently in the wilderness on Merseyside in terms of his first-team future, with Jurgen Klopp having elected not to give him another chance following his return from a fruitless loan spell at AC Milan.

‘Balo’ himself is thought to be ready to leave to resurrect his career, and has even sought advice from his former manager, Jose Mourinho, regarding his next move.

And it seems that could be back to Italy with Lazio, who are reportedly interested in the controversial forward.

The Stadio Olimpico side are thought to be shopping for a replacement for veteran forward Miroslav Klose, with Balotelli seen as an option.

One big problem for the Biancocelesti though is his huge salary, with £100,000-per-week wages beyond their budget.
