Liverpool have made an €18m (£15.5m) offer for midfielder Leandro Paredes, and although Roma have rejected this approach they may accept bids in the region of €20m (£17.2m) to €22m (£18.9m) for his signature, according to Emanuele Giulianelli.
The Reds have enjoyed a productive off-season under Jurgen Klopp, with the additions of Sadio Mane and Georgino Wijnaldum for a combined sum of around £60m the headline deals at Anfield.
However, Loris Karius, Ragnar Klavan, Joel Matip and Alex Manninger have also been snapped up to address problems at the other end of the pitch, taking the club’s news signings tally to six.
And Giulianelli, writing in his TribalFootball column, claims that they are keen on a seventh, with Roma’s Paredes having been the subject of a £15.5m offer.
It’s understood that this bid was knocked back by the Serie A heavyweights, yet there’s a feeling they will accept offers of around £17.3m – £18.9m for the playmaker, who will move for Fiorentina’s Borja Valero should they sell.
Paredes is owned by the Stadio Olimpico giants but shone last season while on loan at Empoli, where he played alongside Piotr Zielinski, who was heavily linked with Liverpool before moving to Napoli.
