Shambles: Liverpool fans slam Manchester City after fans leave the Etihad empty

Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to slam Manchester City after they saw the Etihad littered with empty seats in the 2-0 home win over Cardiff on Wednesday evening.

The Cityzens are in the midst of the Premier League’s most exciting title race for a few years now, but even that hasn’t attracted the fans to come and watch their team play.

Pep Guardiola’s men are even in with a shot at winning the quadruple, having already picked up the Carabao Cup – however, their success this season hasn’t been enough to fill their 55,000-seater stadium.

It has also been reported that the Premier League champions are struggling to sell their allocation for the FA Cup semi-final against Brighton, and have had to send 2,000 tickets back to the Football Association.

Given the fact that City are Liverpool’s main rivals in this season’s title race, and the fact that the Merseysiders pride themselves on making Anfield a fortress with their atmosphere, a lot of their fanbase have wasted no time in criticising City’s lack of support on Twitter…
