Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to slam Manchester City after they saw the Etihad littered with empty seats in the 2-0 home win over Cardiff on Wednesday evening.
The Cityzens are in the midst of the Premier League’s most exciting title race for a few years now, but even that hasn’t attracted the fans to come and watch their team play.
Are the media letting Jurgen Klopp off lightly for his lack of silverware? The Pl>ymaker FC squad have their say in the video below…
Pep Guardiola’s men are even in with a shot at winning the quadruple, having already picked up the Carabao Cup – however, their success this season hasn’t been enough to fill their 55,000-seater stadium.
It has also been reported that the Premier League champions are struggling to sell their allocation for the FA Cup semi-final against Brighton, and have had to send 2,000 tickets back to the Football Association.
Given the fact that City are Liverpool’s main rivals in this season’s title race, and the fact that the Merseysiders pride themselves on making Anfield a fortress with their atmosphere, a lot of their fanbase have wasted no time in criticising City’s lack of support on Twitter…
Half of the Etihad is empty during the closest title race in a while.
What a shambles of a fan base.

No pride in their club, no deep desire. Plastic all over, glory hunters. No class at all. Just a toy shop of top players and a puppet golden manager to pull the strings. Joke!

Must win to go back top with 6 games left. Empty seats everywhere . Don’t get why anyone would want them to win the league pic.twitter.com/1Zq4gMI8dy

I say it all the time but it still shocks me that, even though City are playing good football and going for the title, their stadium still has a heap of empty seats and at this stage of the season too
They’ve such a small club mentality #Emptihad

Empty seats at the Etihad in a crucial game in the title run in. Unbelievable.

I still can’t get over the fact that it’s like mission impossible to purchase a ticket for any #LFC game yet #MCFC have empty seats for a home game last night #JokeOfAClub I’m sure they will disclose it was a sell out to try and get over the FIFA Financial Fair ?Play case
