Questions still remain over Xherdan Shaqiri's long-term future at Liverpool.

The Switzerland international has been the subject of loan bids from both Sevilla and AS Roma, but both have been rejected by the European champions. It seems that he will be staying with the club for the time being, but with just 174 Premier League minutes to his name so far this season, it remains to be seen for how long he will be comfortable taking up a bit-part role.

Call yourself a Liverpool expert? How much did each of these big-money January signings cost?

Now, journalist James Pearce has offered another update on his situation.

He has said that whilst the 28-year-old will be staying with the club for the time being, the Merseyside outfit would be willing to let him leave for €30m (£25.5m) in the summer.

It seems the fans are torn by the news. Some would be sad to seem him go, by the looks of it.

Shaqiri has proven his worth to Jurgen Klopp, and has contributed to their success over the past 18 months - he scored twice from bench against Manchester United last season, for example, whilst he also bagged against Everton in his first start of the Premier League campaign this term.

Others, though, believe that it would be a fantastic bit of business.

Given that he was signed for just £13m, it would be shrewd from the Reds to receive around double that sum.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for the former Bayern Munich man.

Elsewhere, this Liverpool star failed to his usual heights against Manchester United on Sunday.
