SIX enforcers to ensure Liverpool never let a three-goal lead slip again

Yesterday evening, in a match that will undoubtedly go down in Premier League folklore as one of the most unexpected comebacks of all time, Liverpool threw away a three-goal lead with just twelve minutes remaining against Crystal Palace, as Tony Pulis’ side somehow managed to net three times before the final whistle.

There’s no doubt the implications for the Reds are huge. Manchester City now have the opportunity to finish two points higher than them in the Premier League, a crushing reality which reduced Luis Suarez to tears at Selhurst Park.

But could things have been considerably different if Brendan Rodgers had a midfield enforcer at his disposal? It’s not the first time the Anfield side have been questioned for their lack of defensive guile and physicality in the middle of the park, especially amid the regular injury bouts of the Liverpool squad’s only holding midfielder – Lucas Leiva.

With that in mind, here’s a look at SIX midfield enforcers the Merseysiders could snap up this summer to make sure their three-goal slip-ups become a thing of the past.
