Alex Song

Pedro could soon find himself joined at Anfield by Catalans compatriot and fellow Liverpool target Alex Song.

The Reds are keen to add a defensive element to their midfield this summer, with tough-tackling Brazilian Lucas Leiva set for a Merseyside exit and Brendan Rodgers’ side recording the worst goals conceded column in the Premier League’s top nine this season.

Measuring in at 6 foot 2, the powerful Cameroon international fits the bill perfectly, also boasting significant Premier League experience from a seven-year spell with Arsenal where he amassed 150 top flight appearances.

Furthermore, having managed just 38 La Liga outings since moving to the Nou Camp in summer 2012, most commonly featuring as a substitute and in his less-favoured centre-back role, the 26 year-old is reportedly available for around £8million this summer.

An absolute pittance for a Champions League standard midfielder – but Arsenal and Manchester United are baying for his services too.
