Spaniard may return to Liverpool for Champions League football

Suso has revealed he would like to resurrect his Liverpool career, should the Reds qualify for the Champions League, according to the Express.

The 20-year-old Spaniard is currently on loan at La Liga outfit Almeria, where he has been a regular starter, clocking up 24 appearances this season.

Liverpool are well on course to achieve Champions League qualification this season, leading fifth placed Tottenham by six points with a game in hand.

Suso has a year to run on his contract, but admits he would love the chance to play in Europe’s elite competition under Brendan Rodgers.

“I’ve been talking with Liverpool, to see if they’re going to renew my contract,” Suso told Estadio Deportivo.

“Next season they could be playing in the Champions League and I’m really keen to be a part of that.”

Sevilla have recently been linked with a move for the young playmaker, and Suso admits the possibility of a move could prove tempting.

“I don’t know anything about that, but maybe they’ve spoken with my agent,” he added.

“Sevilla is a club I’ve always admired, for how they live and breathe football, their character, their stadium… It would be a really good place for me. Also, it’s just an hour down the road from my home.”
