Spaniards plot January swoop for Liverpool ace

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez

Real Madrid will bid for Liverpool striker Luis Suarez in January, according to the Daily Mail.

The La Liga giants are targeting the Premier League star, as well as Monaco’s new signing Radamel Falcao.

Despite signing Gareth Bale for a world record €100million, Los Blancos are already planning their spending for January, and are determined to sign either Suarez or Falcao. Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti will see the £42million received for the sale of Mesut Ozil reinvested in signing a striker.

Madrid sold Gonzalo Higuain and Jose Callejon to Napoli this summer, leaving just Alvaro Morata and Karim Benzema as the only recognised strikers at the Bernabeu. And while Ronaldo, who scored 34 league goals last campaign, can play down the middle, Madrid chiefs want to bring in a new forward in the New Year.

Suarez had been a reported target for Los Blancos in the summer, but the Uruguayan stayed put at Anfield, despite pushing for a move to rivals Arsenal, while Falcao left Real’s neighbours Atletico for high spending Monaco, and has already scored three times this season.

Real are one of four teams to win all three of their matches in La Liga this season, along with Atletico Madrid, Villarreal and Barcelona. New signing Gareth Bale could help continue Real’s winning streak when his new side face Villarreal on Saturday.

Who should Real sign, Suarez or Falcao? Or is there someone else that should be on their shortlist?
