Bolton’s on loan midfielder Jay Spearing admits that he is unsure as to what his future holds as he prepares to link up with Liverpool.
The 24-year-old has made 39 appearances for the Championship club since being allowed to leave on a season-long loan deal in the summer, helping them to push for immediate promotion back to the top flight.
Spearing was deemed surplus to requirements by Reds manager Brendan Rodgers when he took charge of the Anfield side in the summer, but with his season ending prematurely due to a toe injury he is unsure what his next move will be.
The youngster admits that it is his dream to play for his boyhood club on a regular basis but if he does not get opportunities he is more than prepared to look for football elsewhere.
Spearing said: “I’m not going to say yes or no at this point and it probably won’t be for me to decide.
“The gaffer has got to want me in the first place, hasn’t he?
“I’ll go away on holiday in the summer and then come back, sit down with Liverpool and with my agent to decide what happens.”
