Liverpool's Roberto Firmino has begun the season in terrific form as his side currently sit fourth in the Premier League table and only two points behind leaders Manchester City.

His four goals so far this season have contributed heavily to Liverpool's fantastic run, which has seen them go undefeated in seven games and win five on the bounce - most recently away at Swansea in which the Brazilian forward scored in a hard-fought 2-1 victory.

Firmino - despite finishing last season as Liverpool's top scorer in the Premier League with 10 goals - looked out-of-sorts at times, especially during the early stages of the campaign when he appeared to be finding it difficult to adapt to the physical side of the English game.

The 25-year-old has since gone from strength to strength, however, and flourished under the leadership of Jurgen Klopp, becoming one of the key men during the German's year at Anfield.

Capable of playing anywhere across the front and even in the midfield, the former Hoffenheim man will be a vital figure in Liverpool's challenge for Champions League football this season.

Here are 10 things you may not know about Liverpool's star man ....

Allegedly, Firmino's new barnet this season - which has caused quite the divide with the Kopp faithful - was inspired by successful Brazilian musician Wesley Safadao. Brazil fans even started screaming the singers name after Firmino scored during Brazil's recent 5-0 thrashing of Bolivia - much to the Liverpool man's delight.

At the time of his move, Firmino was the most expensive player to be sold from the Bundesliga at £29million. This was soon eclipsed by the transfer of Kevin De Bruyne, however, and subequently those of Leroy Sane, Granit Xhaka and Henrikh Mkhitaryan this summer.

Not particularly relevant to football, but always good to know if you happen to be in Liverpool doing a pub quiz: Firmino shares the same birthday as Mahatma Gandhi which is the 2nd October.
