The engine of Liverpool: Firmino hailed by Merseyside club’s supporters

On the face of it, 12 Premier League goals for the centre-forward in a team chasing the title is not that impressive.

Those are Roberto Firmino’s numbers this season, but the Brazil international brings so much more than goals to Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Indeed, another selfless performance against Southampton on Friday night helped the Merseyside outfit record a 3-1 win, returning to the top of the Premier League table in the process.

Alongside Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah, Firmino performs a hugely important role for a Liverpool team looking for success in both the Premier League and Champions League in the final weeks of the campaign.

It would be fair to say that the Liverpool supporters loved what they saw from the 29-time Brazil international during the victory over Southampton at St Mary’s.
