The FIVE ideal transfers to replace him at Liverpool

Liverpool forward Luis Suarez is having one hell of a season at Anfield and with eight league games left to go he is just seven goals shy of beating Robbie Fowler’s top flight record return for the club of 28 in a campaign, and with a fairly favourable fixture list between now and the end of the term, the chances are that he will go mighty close to breaking it.

The club will be loathed to lose him in the summer, but the prospect is not out of the realms of possibility given that he is one of Europe’s leading marksmen playing for a side not even competing in the Champions League, let alone challenging for major honours on a consistent basis. The ‘ideal’ scenario for the club and manager Brendan Rodgers in particular will be to ride the storm that looks certain to envelop Anfield at the end of the season and come out the other side with the Uruguayan still leading the line, but just in case the board find it difficult to resist a tempting offer north of £40m, or an uncharacteristic show of disloyalty from Suarez, who must be tired now of continually profressing his happiness, a contingency plan must be put in place….
