After their goalless draw at home to Everton, Liverpool look set to finish behind their neighbours, with 7th looking like their likely final position. But it’s still been a good season for Brendan Rodgers, whose first year in charge has shown plenty of promise for the future.
Although fans want the club to be back in the top four places of the Premier League, the majority of supporters were aware that it wasn’t going to happen straight away.
But with the club signing Coutinho and Sturridge in the January transfer window, Rodgers has shown his intentions to bring in young, talented stars to help Liverpool in his long-term plan for the club.
With the summer transfer window soon approaching, Rodgers, along with his transfer committee, will be looking to strengthen his side and aim for a place in Europe by the end of next May.
