Liverpool fans will be mulling over who the club should swoop for this summer, but they already know that one signing is done and dusted.
Last summer, the Merseyside outfit agreed a deal to buy RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita, but the move will only be made official at the end of the season.
Once again, the Reds failed to launch a serious challenge for the Premier League title, and they currently sit 17 points adrift of leaders Manchester City, who have blown everyone away in the top flight.
However, they are in contention to secure a huge piece of silverware in the form of the Champions League after progressing into the semi-finals earlier this week.
Klopp’s side proved that they can beat the best team in England as they earned a 5-1 aggregate triumph, with Trent Alexander-Arnold being singled out for praise due to his performance at right-back across the two legs.
Given how strongly the Merseyside outfit are finishing the season, former defender Phil Thompson has suggested that the arrival of Keita will take them to another level.
The 64-year-old told Sky Sports:
“They’ve already strengthened with the signing of [Naby] Keita from Leipzig. I think he is absolutely terrific. I was watching him against just last week in the Europa League and my goodness, this guy will probably give us what we’ve lacked.
“In that three behind the front three – he gives you goals, he gives you assists, he gives you energy and he’s a nasty little character. There is only James Milner who will really put his foot in and I think this guy could be a real sensation in the Premier League.”
