Liverpool sit atop the Premier League table going into the international break courtesy of their 6-1 demolition job over the Hornets last Sunday.

They looked as formidable as they have done all season barring one disappointing display against Burnley at Turf Moor in August where apart from keeping possession, they created very little of meaning.

Jurgen Klopp's team have become favourites to many neutrals because they create so many chances, play with a zip about them and appear like a tight-knit group of players.

However, that's not to say they are without their flaws. Whilst they are a joy to watch going forward, they still do look like conceding in every single match and that could come back to bite them at the end of the season.

The German manager has certainly got a lot right at Anfield but here are THREE things his side must improve on after the international break.

Defensive solidarity

Liverpool might be blowing teams away with their fantastic gegenpressing and fabulous attacking endeavour but it doesn't make their defensive struggles any more acceptable.

Liverpool have conceded more than any of the other teams in the top seven of the Premier League and with such a long and gruelling season, statistics like those might come back to bite the Reds.

It would be harsh to say they are awful at defending. but each game they play you feel like they are prone to conceding..

Whether it comes from a set piece or an individual error, they just seem like a team thwarted with frailties. They should concentrate a little bit more on learning how to close the door.

Stop trying to fit Sturridge in

Perhaps a controversial view but Liverpool are better off without Daniel Sturridge in the team.

He was magnificent as part of the trio with Raheem Sterling and Luis Suarez that nearly won the league in 2014 for the first time since 1990.

However, since the Reds ultimately fell short that season, Sturridge has been unable to replicate his form, usually either injured or simply not match fit.

When he does get game time he is often greedy and doesn't play for the good of the team.

On the contrary, whilst Firmino isn't technically a striker, he is relishing the false no.9 role and Liverpool are profiting as a result. They should stick with him and only use Sturridge if they're desperately chasing a goal.

Don't discuss the title

Man United title win

Since their last title triumph over 20 years ago, Liverpool twice come close to winning another.

One way or another though, they have collapsed - whether that be after Rafa's 'fact' rant or Steven Gerrard's unforgettable slip.

The obvious and understandable talk about the chance at the title this season is almost unavoidable. However, Liverpool should be cautious with getting ahead of themselves because all too often they seem to let it get the best of them and eventually slip up.

It took Manchester United 26 years between their 7th and 8th first division title. They now have 20 in the bag and have overtaken Liverpool in the overall standings.

It's been 26 years since Liverpool's last success. Is this their year?
