There’s no debate where Liverpool’s strength lies at the moment. Their sensational attacking trio give defenders nightmares, but they should be pursuing another winger this summer.

Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have all had incredible seasons, but there is a significant drop off in quality if one of the three were to get injured or need a rest - particularly following Philippe Coutinho's exit to Barcelona.

Sadio Mane’s absence hurt the Reds in the latter stages of last season and Roberto Firmino’s heavy workload has left him fatigued at times in the past. If one of the three were to get injured now, the replacement would probably be Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who is much happier in central midfield.

Jürgen Klopp has made more changes than any other Premier League manager this season, so he is certainly not against heavy rotation - but most of that rotation has come behind the front three. Liverpool must add another quality winger this summer to help their tremendous trio next season, and we’ve lined up three potential targets.

Leon Bailey, Bayer Leverkusen

Bailey has enjoyed a breakout season in the Bundesliga this year, and should be the first choice for several Premier League clubs seeking some attacking flair this summer. Valued at £25million by Transfermarkt, the Jamaican winger can play on either flank and has grabbed 11 goals to go with five assists in all competitions this season. His pace and directness should appeal to Klopp, and his eye for goal at just 20 years of age can only mean good things. He is also young enough that he probably would not mind being the fourth option in Liverpool’s ferocious attack for the time being.

Richarlison, Watford

Valued at £17.8million by Transfermarkt, Watford’s Brazilian winger enjoyed a fantastic start to life in the Premier League but has slowed down considerably since the sacking of Marco Silva. That said, his skill and fearlessness is something that can improve any side, even if he is still quite raw. One criticism levelled at the 20 year-old is that he takes too many shots, but that will not worry Klopp who just last week praised Mohamed Salah for being "greedy". Richarlison has not looked quite the same since Silva left the Hornets and could be looking for a way out this summer.

Serge Gnabry, Bayern Munich (on loan at Hoffenheim)

Gnabry has excelled in Germany since leaving Arsenal, provoking Bayern Munich to snap up the exciting 22 year-old last summer before loaning him back to Hoffenheim. Gnabry could find himself short of opportunities at Munich however, and his ability to play as a winger or striker would allow Liverpool to offer him more playing time as the second option behind all three front men. The two-cap German has been in superb form since returning form injury in November, and bagged a brace against Naby Keita’s Leipzig in December.
