Three wingers Liverpool should target this summer to help overworked front three
There’s no debate where Liverpool’s strength lies at the moment. Their sensational attacking trio give defenders nightmares, but they should be pursuing another winger this summer.
Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have all had incredible seasons, but there is a significant drop off in quality if one of the three were to get injured or need a rest – particularly following Philippe Coutinho’s exit to Barcelona.
Sadio Mane’s absence hurt the Reds in the latter stages of last season and Roberto Firmino’s heavy workload has left him fatigued at times in the past. If one of the three were to get injured now, the replacement would probably be Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who is much happier in central midfield.
Jürgen Klopp has made more changes than any other Premier League manager this season, so he is certainly not against heavy rotation – but most of that rotation has come behind the front three. Liverpool must add another quality winger this summer to help their tremendous trio next season, and we’ve lined up three potential targets.
