‘Too much greatness’ – Liverpool fans delighted with double award win

Jurgen Klopp and Virgil van Dijk have won the Premier League Manager of the Month and Player of the Month awards for December, leaving Liverpool fans satisfied.

The Reds remain top of the league, four points clear of second-placed Manchester City, and enjoyed a flawless December domestically.

Under Klopp’s stewardship, the Reds began the month with a 1-0 derby victory over Everton, before a 3-1 win over Burnley.

That was followed by a 4-0 thumping of Bournemouth, and a 3-1 win over Manchester United, in what proved to be Jose Mourinho’s last match as manager at Old Trafford.

The month was wrapped up in convincing fashion with three more wins, over Wolves and Newcastle before a jaw-dropping 5-1 thrashing of Arsenal.

Van Dijk played in every single game, captaining the side against Everton, United and Arsenal, and also finding the back of the net against Wolves.

Reds fans, predictably, have reacted to the news with glee.
