Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to give Jurgen Klopp their backing over his treatment of Xherdan Shaqiri.

The Swiss international, a £13m summer signing from Stoke, began the campaign well at Anfield, where his two crucial goals in the 3-1 win over Manchester United suggested he might prove to be one of the signings of the season.

However, since the 1-1 draw with Leicester at the end of January, the former Bayern Munich man hasn't started a single game and has played just 40 minutes of football.

A reason for his absence is yet to come out, although you can hardly blame Klopp for his decision as the Reds have been in exquisite form in the second half of the campaign.

Liverpool currently sit at the top of the table, and are in the semi-finals of the Champions League, and many of the club's supporters on Twitter have sided with Klopp over the strange situation as a result of those achievements...
