There was always going to be huge twists in this title race and today has potentially thrown one up in the most negative of senses for Liverpool.
The Reds are looking to win their first ever Premier League crown and their first top flight title since 1990, with many believing the triumvirate of Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Philippe Coutinho can take the Reds all the way.
Indeed, so far this season, the trio have been in scintillating form, which is why the following news has caused such panic: Philippe Coutinho was stretched off with a serious ankle injury in the first half against Sunderland today.
The Brazilian, arguably Liverpool’s best player, suffered a really nasty-looking impact on his right ankle and it’s left many Reds fans on Twitter fearing the worst this afternoon.
The extent of the injury remains to be seen but one question seems to be shining through; title challenge over?
Only way you were stopping us from winning the league was long term injury to Coutinho. Typical.

Lallana, Sturridge and now Coutinho. Can't afford to get any more injuries with the festive period around the corner.

No Coutinho > team falls apart

With that injury could go liverpools chance of a top 4 place. Coutinho has been world class in a prem league lacking in it.
