Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has admitted that his side’s confidence is shot following yet another morale-sapping defeat against Chelsea on Saturday.
The 2-1 loss was their eighth defeat of the season in all competitions, and with the Anfield outfit currently struggling in the Premier League – having amassed just 14 points from 11 games – Rodgers is feeling the pressure.
“It’ll turn for us but it is a difficult moment,” said Rodgers in the aftermath of the Chelsea defeat.
“The players are giving everything but as you would expect when you are not winning the confidence is a bit low.”
“We haven’t scored anywhere near the goals that we would like or that we have in the last couple of years.”
Next up for the Reds is an away fixture against Crystal Palace next weekend, before a crucial Champions League tie in Bulgaria against Ludogorets Razgrad.
