Liverpool are have drawn up a three-man shortlist to replace Mario Balotelli in January, with West Brom’s Saido Berahino, Diafra Sakho of West Ham and Porto hit-man Jackson Martinez in the mix, according to reports from The Express.
Even though ‘Balo’ was only signed over the summer, the Reds are thought to be losing patience with the £16m Italian, with some rumours suggesting that he could be sold as early as January, even though such a scenario is seen as unlikely.
Rodgers is understood to be worried by the lack of goals in his side, and is desperate to add to his threats in January.
Porto’s Martinez has been a target mentioned over the course of the past few months, but Sakho and Berahino are other names in the mix following tier excellent starts to the season.
The West Brom ace is currently the Premier League’s top scoring Englishman with seven goals and was recently rewarded with his first Three Lions cap on the back of his impressive performances.
The Baggies are desperate to keep their man, however rumours suggest they’re open to a massive offer.
Sakho is another target, despite the Frenchman having only joined West Ham over the summer.
The 24-year-old is the Hammers’ top scorer with eight goals in all competitions.
