Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter and reacted angrily to Raheem Sterling's comments, after the Manchester City forward joked that no-one wants to see the Reds win the Premier League title.

Speaking at the BT Sport Industry Awards, where he picked up the Integrity and Impact Award for his efforts in fighting racism in football, the former Liverpool forward spoke about the Manchester derby and the implications losing that game would have had.

Chelsea fans were giving it large at Anfield on Sunday. Watch their afternoon get slowly ruined in the video below...

Sterling said: "Any little slip and you've got the Liverpool guys who could go on top of you. You don't want that, I don't want that, I don't think anybody wants that."

Having come through the Merseysiders' academy, Sterling left Liverpool for Manchester City in a £49m deal in 2016, and the Reds supporters haven't taken kindly to his comments towards the club that made him.

There still seems to be some bad blood between the player and the club's fanbase after the manner in which he forced a move away, having rejected a £100,000-a-week deal before his agent said that his client wouldn't sign a contract worth £900,ooo-a-week.

Let's see what a number of angry Liverpool supporters on Twitter have been saying about the 24-year-old's comments...
