Philippe Coutinho scored an absolute worldy against Southampton in today’s Premier League game at St Mary’s. The shot didn’t exactly seem to be ‘on’ for the Brazilian, but the forward obviously didn’t care:

The goal will be particularly painful for Southampton fans, as they had a penalty shout waved away by referee Kevin Friend early on in proceedings. Some may say that the incident ‘came too early’ for the referee, but nobody has ever been able to explain as to what that actually means.
However, hope remains for the Saints as Brendan Rodgers’ side have shipped 62% of their goals in the second half of games, the highest proportion in the top flight. Southampton, meanwhile, have won only one of their last seven home Barclays Premier League matches where the opposition has scored.
Today’s game could go some way to deciding who will finish in this year’s top four.
