Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to drool over Gini Wijnaldum's performance in the 1-0 win over Tottenham on Saturday evening.

Jurgen Klopp's side recorded their 20th win from 21 Premier League outings this season with a narrow victory over Jose Mourinho's men, who were unable to find a way past the Reds in north London.

The result takes the European champions onto 61 points out of a possible 63 for the campaign, and one man was pivotal in keeping that fine run going - Wijnaldum.

The Netherlands international was making his 20th Premier League start of the season and went on to deliver a fantastic performance against Spurs, completing 92.9% of his 84 passes while also showing a remarkable resistance to being pressed by the Tottenham players with a clever use of his body.

Wijnaldum also had one shot on target and completed an impressive five dribbles, while winning three aerial duels as well.

It was a composed performance from the former Newcastle man, and let's take a look at what the Liverpool fans on Twitter thought of it...

This fan with the username 'Empire of the Kop' said that the Dutchman was "nothing short of brilliant" against Spurs, before saying that he "didn't put a foot wrong and maintained the intensity" throughout 90 minutes.

Elsewhere, another Liverpool fan said that Wijnaldum is "Pogba with less talent and more brain cells" before going on to wax lyrical about the 29-year-old's "game IQ" and how adaptable he is to different situations.

Additionally, Danny said that Wijnaldum should be given a fresh deal "immediately" - he also stated that the midfielder was "superb" and "battles so hard but his footwork stays immaculate". High praise indeed.

Furthermore, these two fans discussed how Wijnaldum goes under the radar, before continuing to pour superlatives on the player's head - Chris even said that the Liverpool No.5 has "got a bit of everything in the locker".
