Georginio Wijnaldum has been a stalwart for Liverpool since joining the club from Newcastle in the summer of 2016 for £25m.

The 61-time Netherlands international has since made 166 appearances for the Reds, scoring 16 goals and providing 16 assists during that time. He has been a fantastic servant for Jurgen Klopp, and he also appeared in the Champions League final last season as the Anfield outfit lifted the trophy.
However, according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein at least, the 29-year-old could depart the club in the summer. With just 18 months left on his contract, it is being said that the north-west side’s hierarchy would be willing to move the £45m-rated player onto an Italian or Spanish club at the end of the campaign.
Can you name the result these iconic Liverpool images belong to? Give it a go now…
This has caused much debate amongst the Liverpool supporters, and it appears that there is a significant number of supporters who are certain he will stay.
What hey? This has gotta be fake news , can’t see gg going anywhere as he’s a important and class player for us .

Absolutely ZERO chance this is happening. Next…..

There is no way Klopp is willing to let him leave in the summer unless Gini wants to go which he doesn’t. Gini loves the club and Klopp loves Gini. I’d be extremely surprised and disappointed if he left in the summer

He’s certainly earned a new deal. The man is the epitome of consistency

Considering he has featured in 19 of Liverpool’s 20 Premier League matches, as well as in all of their Champions League games to date, it would be a huge turn of events for him to exit in a few months.
Others, though, are far more relaxed in their view of the situation, and are not totally against the idea of him moving on.
He’s 29 years old if someone offers 40m I would think about it. I trust Klopp to be able to spot the next Gini.

Age. Henry sell players always when they rrach his 30’s… and we will need to let him go for others like grujic, curtis jones, chambo, keita to take this place

At 29 years of age, there is the question of how long he has left at the very highest level. With his current market value currently resting at £45m, there is certainly a case to be made to move him on rather than see him run his contract down.
Either way, the player and the club should concentrate on the next six months as they chase down a first Premier League title in 30 years.
In other news, Liverpool fans rave about this man’s F.A Cup display.
